The Mamemon on his hat in particular is a coy allusion to a Digimon he was most strongly associated with in the original game's FMVs. Whatever the case, DWNO's staff definitely want you to *think* he's Hiro. ![]() I have stayed cautious about this topic because the possibility remains open that "Hiro" is a deliberate fake-out in the storyline itself. What do you guys think? Could it be so? Is it just a coincidence? Could a blast of nostalgia in the form of a direct or indirect sequel be possible? Discuss! Nothing can be said for sure, but the resemblance is uncanny and with recent statements from the development team on their desires to please audience old and new with this next entry, it is exeedingly plausable. Now, it is completely possible that this is either a coincidence, lack of creativity on the part of the design team or simply a refrence/easter egg, but there is an equal chance that it is something more. In the last few months, there has been a lot of new information on gameplay and story elements (which I have tried to stay away from to avoid spoilers for the inevitable localization if Cyber Sleuth sells well) but something really caught my eye that I couldn't resist peeking at in the form of a seemily familier face in one of the latest updates. Well, despite the discontinuity between games, it seems that our nostalgic friend with the black tuke (beanie if you aren't Canadian like me) could be back as a high school student for a new adventure in the Digital World. If you were a kid in the 90's, theres a good chance you came across a little known gem called "Digimon World" for the original Sony PlayStation, featuring the humble elementary student hero, aptly called "Hiro" and his digital monster companion Agumon. It looks like all of that may change with the release of "Digimon World: Next Order" for the PSVita. So far, storywise, the Digimon World games have followed the same trend as a lot of JRPG series (ex Final Fantasy, Tales Of, Pokemon, ect.) In the sense that the story is pretty much self contained with no connection to previous or future games, even taking place in different realities/timelines like the anime.
